Jayson was born and raised in western North Dakota on a family farm. He is a 1971 graduate of Minot State University with a degree in Medical Technology. He graduated from Western College of Auctioneering in 1980, and entered the auction business full time in 1985. He became a licensed Realtor in 1990 and obtained his Broker license in 1993. He is currently partners with his son Kyle in the family owned United Country Shobe Auction & Realty.

Jayson is an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lewistown Rotary, and the Lewistown Area Chamber of Commerce.

Professionally, Jayson is a member of the Montanan Auctioneers Association, the National Auctioneers Association, Lewistown Board of Realtors, Montana Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

Jayson and his wife, Debby, have 3 grown children, son Kyle and wife Jodie of Lewistown, son Justin of Lewistown, daughter Kari Beth of Moorhead, MN, and one handsome grandson, McKay Shobe.

When not selling auctions or real estate, Jayson enjoys attending rodeos; calling square dances and listening to his sons play in their country band.

Besides conducting auctions with United Country Shobe Auction & Realty, Kyle also sells cattle on a weekly basis at Lewistown Livestock Auction. In 2010, he won the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship, hosted by the Livestock Marketing Association, at the Oklahoma National Stockyards in Oklahoma City. He is also a PRCA rodeo announcer and travels the country announcing key rodeo events such as Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming and the Dillon Jaycees PRCA Rodeo during Montana's Biggest Weekend in Dillon, Montana. His country music band, "Kyle Shobe & the Walk 'Em Boys" has appeared in 7 states and recently released their first studio album, titled "Sounds Like Music."

Kyle can provide complete auction services for many types of auctions, including purebred livestock auctions, charity auctions, real estate auctions, personal property auctions, and farm/ranch equipment auctions. In addition to working as an auctioneer in the field, Kyle shares his auction knowledge and expertise of the business as an instructor at Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, Montana.

Kyle serves as Vice President of the Montana Auctioneers Association and is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, National Association of Realtors, Montana Association of Realtors, Lewistown Board of Realtors, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, Livestock Marketing Association and the Montana Stock Growers Association.

Kyle holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wyoming. He and his wife Jodie have 2 children, McKay (4) and Hadlee (2).
